Age: Unknown, but she's lived for a pretty long time. All that can be said for certain is for over sixty years, for sure.
Role In Canon: She's been a boss in one game, and a playable character in two. She's the boss in the games referred to as PC-98 games because of when they were made about, but she only pops up in the more recent Touhou Project games once. She doesn't have a continuing major role in the recent games or anything though, only the game she popped up in was related to her by being about flowers.

Though to explain her part in this game more, she knew what was going, but didn't get it exactly until after moving around a while and it coming to her.
Personality: Yuuka Kazami is a youkai of flowers that has lived many years. She moves where the flowers move, stays amongst them and has little to do with the average human unlike the youkai younger than her who see them as prey and. From appearance, she looks simple; gentle, peaceful, and with a smile she wears on her face that has been described by a human to make her look powerless when she browsed his flower shop.
But that only hides her true power and character. Yuuka is a merciless being and has no care for others but her flowers and herself. It's for this that people should be counted as lucky, for her strength goes as far as being described that those who go up against her would have no chance at escape if she thought to attack them. Yuuka is shown to very little show the full extend of her strength though, thankfully, following instead to the rules of danmaku that keep people safe from any serious damage.
Luckily, many shouldn't have to worry about Yuuka, for she rarely moves away from the flower fields. When she does decide to interact with others though, she can be teasing. For her it's fun, never taking a conversation seriously or taking the other serious. She plays with them, tells lies, makes them believe things until the last second; she gets under the skin of those who would give the best reaction to it. Even to those that might look to make things physical, Yuuka doesn't worry. She is a youkai with no fear that hasn't faced anyone yet to bring that emotion back to her.
In a way, you could probably see Yuuka's personality as simple. Don't bother her and she may not bother you. Also, she loves flowers, so especially don't bother them if you don't want to become the subject of her abuse. She doesn't move with others but moves by her own interests and accord, making her not a very co-operative person unless it has some interest in it for her to be. Has it ever? Not really. The only way we see her 'with' people is by the people in her service like the guard Elly, and they've been seen interacting.
So, what can people expect from Yuuka? To take interest in limited things, to be around flowers, and to not always be sure if she's up to something or not. To tease, to take advantage of communication when she feels like it. One who despite what she can do will be relatively peaceful. Sure to keep an eye on what happens in the Gardens considering it still being an abduction, but not to work with people or to tolerate the noisy crowds.
Oh, and definitely expect a lot of flower talk. And comparing things to flowers. And using flowers for examples.

As a youkai, Yuuka has the abilities of youkai. This means that her strength is more than a human, and is said at that to be a lot. She is considered to be one of the strongest youkai, but no one knows for certain if she's the strongest of all or just one of them. Nonetheless, she wields powers that make her a fearsome foe that is held back by the rules of danmaku she follows and the laid-back approach she takes to 'serious' fights (for example, when going against the Yama who annoyed her, she still was using danmaku - therefore, following the same rules that are applied to everyone).
So, she has strength. Another thing she can also do is fly- move around in the air. She has no wings, but it's a common thing in Gensokyo for most of the characters.
Now, onto her other powers. Her main ability is being able to manipulate flowers. As written in Perfect Memento in Strict Sense, this means that she came make them bloom open, make them move, make the dead once again flower. It seems that she can manipulate a lot about flowers.
Her youkai ability other than in physical strength isn't touched upon, but we see she's capable of a lot if we look at all of her appearances, especially her first. Her 'home' in Lotus Land Story is Mugenkan, found between the real world and the 'Dream World'.
Also, in Mystic Square, Yuuka apparently received the 'ultimate magic', confirmed in her Kioh Gyoku profile by ZUN, but it's not stated what it is (ZUN, the maker, saying that not even he knows). Really, a lot about Yuuka's abilities is a mystery to fans, especially with the shift between PC-98 to Windows. It's talked about some here.
